With available square footage in the front of the building Tom Banis designed a new storefront to be added to the building to create an outdoor experience. The area included sliding front windows to be open during the warmer months, with seating perfect for watching pedestrian traffic up and down S. Locust Street. For the floor and inside wall Tom used natural stone and cement to carry that outside look in. A beautiful eight-foot high iron separator allows those entering the restaurant from the street to peak inside the patio area. From inside the patio the unique iron fixture gives diners a sense of separation from the actual street entrance. Framed windows on the inside wall are consistent with the feeling that diners are actually outside and the windows offer a view into the interior of the main restaurant.
